Terms, Privacy & Refunds

Bhurji Matrimony is a matchmaking platform for the Bhurji community. These pages explain the rules of use, how your data is handled, and how payments and refunds work — in plain language.

1. Terms of Use
Who can join
You must be at least 18 years old to register, and you confirm that any marriage pursued through this platform will comply with the legal marriageable age in India (currently 21 for grooms and 18 for brides). Membership is open to members of the Bhurji community and their families searching on their behalf. One person, one account — creating duplicate or fake profiles is grounds for removal.
Your account is your responsibility
Keep your password and phone access safe, and keep your biodata, photos, and preferences accurate and current. You are responsible for everything done through your account. If you suspect misuse, change your password immediately and tell us at the support address below.
What verification does (and does not) mean
Accounts are verified by phone or email, and every photo is reviewed by a human moderator before it appears. This keeps the platform genuine, but it is not a background check: we do not verify identity documents, income, education, marital history, or criminal records. Always use your own judgment — meet in public places, involve family early, and never send money to someone you met here, whatever story they tell.
Content rules
Upload only your own (or your ward’s, with consent) photos and truthful details. The following lead to moderation action or removal: false or misleading biodata, someone else’s photos, obscene or hateful content, harassment or spam, sharing another member’s private details publicly, and any commercial solicitation. Photos that do not pass review stay hidden until they pass.
Fair use of contact and privacy controls
Respect every member’s privacy settings. Contact numbers are revealed only where the viewer holds a paid pack and the member’s contact policy allows it; photo visibility can be limited to verified or mutually-connected members. Do not pressure anyone to share details they have chosen to keep private, and do not copy profiles or photos off the platform.
Free and paid services
Creating a profile and browsing matches is free. Paid packs add reach and visibility. All paid memberships are one-time packs for 3 months — there is no subscription and no auto-renewal; a pack simply expires and your account returns to the free plan. Prices are in INR and collected securely through our payment partner (Razorpay). A purchased pack applies to your account only and cannot be transferred.
Suspension and leaving
We may warn, suspend, or remove accounts that break these terms, post false information, harass others, or misuse payments. You may leave at any time: export your data from Settings and delete your account there (deletion is typed-confirmed, signs you out everywhere, and removes your profile, photos, and preferences). Some records (e.g. payment history required by law) may be retained as described in the privacy section.
No guarantees, limited liability
We work hard to keep the platform genuine and safe, but we cannot guarantee that any profile is accurate, that you will find a match, or that interactions will lead to marriage. The platform is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the current pack, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from matches, meetings, or decisions you make.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we will update the date above and, where reasonable, notify members in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be subject to the courts at Agra. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest continue in full effect.
2. Privacy Policy
Short version: your profile is visible to other members for matchmaking; your private details are shared only per your settings; you can export or delete your data anytime.
What we collect
Account details (name, email/phone, password), profile and partner-preference details you enter, photos you upload, messages and interests you exchange, and basic technical records needed to run the service (such as sign-in and payment confirmations).
How we use it
To show your profile to suitable matches, run search and compatibility features, verify accounts and moderate photos, process payments, send service notifications (messages, matches, verification decisions), and keep the platform safe. We do not sell your personal data.
Who sees what
Your biodata is visible to other members on the platform — that is the service. Finer controls stay yours: hide your horoscope, limit photo visibility to verified members or mutual matches, and choose who may see your contact number (nobody, mutual matches, or approved members). Contact details are never published publicly. We share data with service providers only as needed (e.g. payment processing, message delivery), and with authorities only when required by law.
Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may access, correct, and erase your personal data, and withdraw consent by deleting your account. Use Settings to download a copy of your data (JSON export) or delete your account at any time. For privacy requests or complaints, write to our Grievance Officer, Rakesh Saxena, at the support address below.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, and preferences are removed; payment and security records required by law or for fraud prevention may be retained for the legally required period. Operational backups may hold copies for a limited time and are not used for matchmaking.
3. Refunds & Cancellation
Because packs are one-time purchases (not subscriptions), there is nothing to cancel — no auto-renewal will ever charge you again. Every unused pack comes with a 7-day, no-questions-asked refund: write to us within 7 days of purchase with your payment reference, provided no paid feature has been used (no contact reveals, priority placement, verified-only search, or similar paid benefits), and we will refund it in full to the original payment method.
After 7 days, or once any paid feature has been used, packs are not refundable — except duplicate or failed charges, which are always refunded in full, and genuine hardship or service-failure cases at our discretion. Disputed or charge-backed payments are recorded against the account, and the corresponding pack may be withdrawn while the dispute is resolved.
Refunds, where approved, are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days through our payment partner.
4. Safety guidelines
Keep conversations on the platform until you trust the person. Verify key claims independently (family, employment, marital status) before committing. Meet first in public with family present. Never share OTPs, bank details, or money — no genuine member will ask. Report suspicious profiles immediately from the profile page; reports are reviewed by moderators.
